What is Polio ?

Polio is a viral infectious disease that can spread form person to person. Polio is caused by an infection called polio-virus that colonize in the gastrointestinal tract. There are three type of polio-virus that have been identified(polio-virus type1- PV1, type2 - PV2, and type3- PV3). All three virus produce the same symptoms. Minor illness of any of these virus can attack the central nervous system. Major illness also attack the central nervous system but can also lead to paralysis.
